Ysabel Herrera

Ysabel Herrera, 81, of Lane City passed away on February 5, 2024 in Bay City. She was born in Lane City, Texas on August 5, 1942, to the late Leandro and Josephine Luna Barron.

Ysabel was raised in Wharton and attended Wharton schools. She married Joe Herrera. He preceded her in death in 2001.She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Ysabel enjoyed being with her family, traveling, sewing, reading, going out to eat and playing video games with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Amy Conteras, David Barron, Jose Barron, Marcus Barron and Pete Barron.

Ysabel is survived by her daughters, Josephine Morales and husband, Alfonso of Lane City, Julia Smith of Lane City, Paula Flores and husband, Juan of Victoria, Rachel Herrera and husband, Pedro Cruz of North Carolina, JoAnn Hooks and husband, Fred of East Bernard and Joe Herrera, Jr. and wife, Stephanie of Richmond, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home, 515 E. Boling Hwy, Wharton, TX 77488. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton .

Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
