Yolanda Perez

Yolanda Perez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on March 5, 1958, in Refugio, Texas to the late Joaquin Garcia, Sr. and Placida Gutierrez Garcia., Yolanda spent her life devoted to her family and career, exemplifying love and determination in all she did.

Yolanda's professional journey as a Government Affairs Consultant in the oil and gas industry began at Unocal 76. She later worked with notable companies including Conoco Phillips, Burlington, and ultimately, Occidental Petroleum. Her work took her to many places, showcasing her dedication and expertise. Yolanda thrived in her career, but she always remained grounded by her unwavering commitment to her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Richard Perez, Sr., their daughter Vivica Etter and husband, Ronald, their son Richard Perez, Jr. and wife, MaryAnn, and their cherished granddaughter, Anyssa Perez. She is also survived by her loving sister Minerva Martinez and brothers Joaquin Garcia, Jr. and Manuel Garcia. Along with extended family, friends and coworkers.Yolanda was a passionate traveler, enjoying countless family vacations that brought everyone together. A devout Catholic, she exemplified the virtues of patience, kindness, and unwavering support, especially for her children and granddaughter. She treasured the time spent at their family retreat in Port O'Connor, where she loved to fish and create lasting memories with her loved ones.

Her warmth and energy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Yolanda's life during a series of services at Holy Cross Catholic Church. A visitation will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM, followed by a Rosary service at 6:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Father Charles Otsiwah. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in East Bernard, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Perez, Jr., Ronald Etter, Nick Martinez, Phillip Perez, Fred Perez, and Chris Benavides.
