William Scott Carr

March 6, 1965 — January 20, 2024

 William Scott Carr, age 58, of East Bernard, passed away January 20, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 6, 1965, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to the late Billy Alfred and Karen Childress Carr.

     Scott was raised in Tyler and Baytown,Texas, and graduated from Sterling High School. He later received his degree from Tarleton State University. He married Shawn Lea Graham on August 10, 1991. 

Scott was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. He was living proof of a loving God to a watching world. He was a family man, loving his wife and daughters was his number one priority. 

Scott was a strong and committed board member of Community Fellowship church of East Bernard, literally helping to build it from the ground up.

He was a salesman and a friend to all, he truly never met a stranger. He began his John Deere career at Eagle Lake Implement Company under Draper Stephens and continued working for Shoppa’s Farm Supply when they purchased the dealership. “Work hard and be nice to people” was his life motto.

     He is survived by his wife, Shawn Carr of East Bernard, daughters, Sloan Schmitt and husband, Braden of Kansas City, Hadley Carr of Austin and Harper Carr of College Station, sister, Sherri Grimm and husband, Roger of Boerne.

         Visitation will be at Community Fellowship Church in East Bernard on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. with the Celebration of Life service taking place the following day, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Simonton Community Church.

 

Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
