Walter Keith Hall was born and raised in Wharton, Texas. He died, after a long health battle, at Jennie Sealy Hospital, a part of the UT Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Keith was born to Susie Belle Speer Hall and Joseph Henry Hall. Keith attended Wharton High School graduating in the Class of 1970, and he also attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
While in High School, Keith was active in FFA, The Tiger Band, baseball and golf. During high school, Keith was named an FHA Beau and a Band Favorite.
Keith was employed for over 30 years by Houston Lighting & Power and CenterPoint Energy, retiring in 2007. During the late 1970’s, Keith became a master at gardening and shared much of his produce with friends and relatives. Keith was also a member of the Co-Ed Softball Team known as the “Burr Rabbits” playing for several years with his many Wharton area friends. Keith enjoyed his gardens, traveling, fishing, playing domino games, and being with his family and friends. Keith provided much assistance to his mom, Sue, during her last years and up to her death in 2015.
Keith is predeceased by his parents, Joe & Sue. He is survived by his three brothers: Joseph Haley Hall, David Speer Hall and his wife Dee, and Luther Glenn Hall.
A private burial took place on August 29th at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton. A Celebration of Life for Keith will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 7th at the Wharton Funeral Home followed by a Visitation gathering of friends and family.
For providing friendship, assistance, and health care to Keith, his family thanks his neighbor, Joe Hernandez, and all his physicians and nurses, with a special thank you to Dr. Vinitha Vellanki, MD.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to one of the Halls’ favorite charities, the Bandina Christian Youth Camp c/o Abell Street Church of Christ, 501 Abell St., Wharton, TX 77488, or to the charity of your choice.
