Victoria Ann Martinez

Victoria Ann Martinez   Victoria Ann Martinez, 57, of Wharton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at an El Campo hospital following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Houston        , Texas on September 17, 1961, a daughter of Celia Medina Cortez and the late Paul Cortez.   Vicky was raised in the Rosenberg area and graduated from Brazos High School. She married Jose “Mo” Martinez on January 30th, 1993 at the Hungerford Hall. Vicky enjoyed working for Houston Hospice as an office manager for many years. When not at work, she was often seen working with her flowers, of scrapbooking. Vicky and Mo enjoyed traveling and dancing when able. Vicky also enjoyed being a participant in many ACTS Retreats.   Vicky is survived by her husband, Jose Martinez, mother Celia Cortez, sons, Lance Bosse, Joe Thomas Martinez and Tyler Martinez all of Wharton, sister, Robin Cortez of Rosenberg, and brothers, Paul Cortez, Jr and wife, Carmen, of Wallis and Mike Cortez and wife, Anna of Rosenberg, and numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and extended family.   Visitation will be on Friday, January 4 after 6pm at Wharton Funeral Home with a parish rosary recited at 7pm. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Comitial will be celebrated by Father Bob Knippenberg on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.  Serving as Pallbearers for Mrs Martinez will be Lance Bosse, Joe Thomas Martinez, Tyler Martinez, Michael Cortez, Zachery Cortez, and Paul Cortez.   Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com
