Thurman Benjamin Talafuse, a devoted son of Texas and a proud World War II veteran of the United States Navy, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and dedication. Born on August 21, 1924, in Magnet, TX, he spent his formative years in the heart of the Lone Star State.
Throughout his life, Thurman found joy in the simple pleasures of home and nature. A passionate hunter and fisherman, he cherished the moments spent outdoors. His talents extended beyond the outdoor realm; he was a true jack of all trades, capable of fixing anything around the house, and he approached each project with determination and skill.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Ruth Evans Talafuse, his brothers, William, Gilbert, Clarence, Tilman Floyd and Wilbert Talafuse and his sister, Flora Kielman. He is survived by a host of family and friends.The visitation for Thurman Talafuse will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM at Wharton Funeral Home. Following cremation, a burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery on August 21, 2026 at 10a.m.
