Teresa Ramirez Muñoz, age 86, of Houston and formerly of Pierce, Texas passed away on February 28, 2026. She was born on October 15, 1939, in Pierce, Texas to the late Francisco Ramirez and Martina Nieto.
Teresa was raised in Pierce and attended school there. On April 11, 1959, she married Eduardo Muñoz, Sr. in Wharton. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1978. She was a proud mother of her children, Paula, Eduardo, Jr., Arnold, Martina, Frank, Agustina and Monica. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Muñoz, sisters, Nasaria Bermudes and Paula Guerrero and granddaughters, Diana Salazar, and Priscilla DeLeon.
Teresa is survived by her children, Paula Hernandez of Houston, Eduardo Muñoz, Jr., of Houston, Arnold Muñoz and wife, Zaneth of Tomball, Martina Salazar and husband, David, Sr of Humble, Agustina Vazquez and husband Enrique of Houston and Monica Vidaña and husband Ismael of Houston, brother, Pete Ramirez and wife, Lucy of Austin, grandchildren, David Salazar, Jr., and wife, Silvina, Marissa Gurrusquieta and husband, Martin, Teresa Salazar, Christina Salazar, Vanessa Salazar, Francisco Salazar, Isaias DeLeon, Jr and wife Rubi, Frank DeLeon and wife, Miriah, Ruben DeLeon and wife, Jazmin, Avian Muñoz, Bradley Muñoz, Christopher Muñoz, Jose Hernandez, Jr. and Yessenia Vidaña and great grandchildren, Isabela, Olivia, Cristian, Gabriel, Amelia, Alejandro, Benjamin, Adela, Ruben, Jr., Aiden, Elias, Yuridia, Jacob and Caleb and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Teresa leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose beautiful light, gentle soul, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her life was a testament to faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She found her greatest joy in gathering her loved ones close, offering guidance, sharing laughter, and giving comfort in times of need & sadness. She attended almost every grandchild and great-grandchildren's school play, concerts, and sports events. She could attend two events in one day and she was very happy to do so. If she was invited to any party, wedding or Quinceanera, she would attend. She loved to travel and go on cruises, she also loved playing bingo. Her warmth filled every room and her kindness left lasting impressions on countless hearts. Although she is no longer with us physically, her spirit will live on in the memories, traditions, and love she planted within her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her beautiful light and soul will remain with us always and forever.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Wharton Funeral Home starting at 3 pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. by Deacon Renee Ramon. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers are David Salazar, Jr., Jose Hernandez, Jr., Isaias DeLeon, Jr., Frank DeLeon, Ruben DeLeon, Francisco Salazar, Avian Muñoz, and Cristian Gurrusquieta.
