Susan Ellen Hoelscher

Susan Ellen Hoelscher, age 67, of Wharton, Texas, passed away on May 23, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 28, 1958, in Union City, New Jersey, to the late Myron Courtney Tucker and Julia Treanor Tucker.

Raised in the Lake Luzerne, New York area, she graduated from high school there. She later attended Wharton County Junior College. She married Johnnie Hoelscher on November 18, 1978, in Wharton. Susan worked as a registrar at WCJC for many years before retiring. She loved going hunting and fishing, tending her plants in the yard and inside the house, attending church at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford, and spoiling her grandchildren by attending all their events. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the tragic passing of her daughter, Carrie Muhlhausen.

Susan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Johnnie Hoelscher; daughter, Sarah Lehman; sister, Gerry Marion; brother, Myron Tucker; and her grandchildren, Wyatt Lehman, Adison Lehman, Cutter Smith, and Cash Smith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, after 1 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford with a rosary recited at 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 3 p.m. with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Hungerford. Serving as pallbearers are Cutter Smith, Cash Smith, Kade Smith, Quinn Burns, Andrew Wind and Ty Rolf.
