Steven Rosario Maldonado

October 22, 1985 ~ June 3, 2021

 Steven Rosario Maldonado passed into the arms of the Lord on June 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Steven was born on October 22, 1985 in Wharton to Jim and Lydia Cantu. 

Steven was a lifelong resident of Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School in 2004.  After high school, Steven proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Aviation Ordinance Technician and earned an Honorable Discharge.  Stevens family fondly remembers him as an avid fisherman and he also loved to spend time outdoors where he enjoyed shooting his guns, BBQ’ing and spending time with family and friends.  What Steven adored the most was spending time with his six children and his wife, Michaela.

Steven is survived by his loving wife 4 years, Michaela (nee Avila) Maldonado, his parents Jim Maldonado and Lydia Cantu, his children Kenzie and Kaelynn Maldonado and Malaya, Daniel, Dillyn and Devan Torres.  He is also survived by his brother Jason Maldonado and his wife Tamika of Wharton, his Mother-in-law Melissa Castro Munoz and her husband Daniel, his Sister-in-law Crystal Avila  and her husband Reynaldo Martinez of Wharton and the mother of his children Kia Ross of Tomball.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Sunday June 6 after 1:00 P.M.  at Wharton Funeral Home 515 E. Boling Hwy.  Military honors will be held at 4:00 P.M.  Rosary will be said at 5:00 P.M.  Interment will be private.
