Stephen Johnson

On May 3, 2026, Stephen Richard Johnson. 67. has finished his final round.

Born on July 10, 1958, in Pennsylvania to Richard and Phyllis, Steve spent the majority of his life in South Texas -where the tea is sweet and it's always tee time on the golf course.

Steve was a dedicated Coach of many sports and a passionate Special Education Teacher. He began his career working with elementary school students and later retired as high school coach and educator.

He loved a good game of golf, strong coffee, cold beer and most of all, telling stories --stories that could make you laugh or leave you shaking your head in disbelief, yet somehow feeling like you had known him your whole life.

Steve is survived by his sisters, Darla, Julie, and Molly: his nieces, Shannon, Jodi, and Breana: his nephews, Dane, Eric, Caelan, and Ian and countless friends who will carry on his stories for years to come.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Wharton Country Club on Friday May 22, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
