Sherry Fay Kucera July 2, 1948 ~ August 21, 2024
Sherry Fay Kucera, 76, of Boling went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She was born on July 2, 1948 in Bay City to Frank and Mabel Hatchett.
Sherry was a graduate of Boling High School. She married the love of her life, Ronnie Eugene Kucera on October 28, 1967 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. She loved her family unconditionally and her grandkids were her pride and joy where she always cheered them on front row. She was guaranteed to put a smile on the face of everyone around with her endless “blonde” moments. She was the definition of fun, supportive, comforting, and she was a proud Aggie grandma. Those that loved her called her Maw Maw and her legacy will live on forever. She enjoyed watching daily videos of monkeys, scrolling through Facebook, stalking her family on Life360, ordering clothes from Shein, and Lifetime/Hallmark movies. She would do anything for her family and would be the first one to defend her grandkids. She never hesitated to lend a listening ear, she had a heart of gold, and always gave the best advice. Everyone knew to just answer her million and one questions because she was a worry wart when it came to those she loved. Although she will be dearly missed, we find peace knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie, parents Frank and Mable Hatchett, her brother Donnie Hatchett, in-laws, Vit and Cecilia Kucera, and her grandson, Caden Kucera.
She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Koudela and fiance Shane Stavena of East Bernard, Dana Gray and husband T.J. of Wharton; grandchildren, Cody and Cameron Koudela, Lana Foyt, Alyssa, Hailey, and Hunter Gray; great grandchildren, Jayden, Koy, Maverick, and Bexley Koudela; brother Clint Hatchett and wife Kimberly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 starting at 5 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. by Deacon Bruce Turner at Wharton Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating. The Rite of Burial and Committal will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Immediately following the services, a reception will be held at the Holy Family Life Center. Pallbearers are Bowie Hatchett, Brandon Thomas, Chase Harrison, Jerry Findley, Shane Wessels, and Kevin Salas.
