Sara Lou Britton

Sara Britton, 76, of Egypt passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at a Houston hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1948, in Wharton, Texas to the late Pete and Clara Heard Speaker.

Sara was raised in Egypt and graduated from Hungerford High School. She married King Britton, Jr. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1998. Sara was a homemaker. She enjoyed listening to music, cleaning her house, visiting her family and loved seeing her daughter.

Sara is survived by her loving daughter, Janie Azari, grandchildren, Mason Speaker, Arthur Smith II, and Mia Dowdell, with her great grandchild, Maverick Speaker and one on the way.

A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 3 pm at the Wharton Funeral Home.
