Ruth Miller
November 27, 1929 – February 24, 2024
Ruth Miller, 94, of Franklin and formerly of Wharton passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at a Bryan hospital following a brief illness. She was born on November 27, 1929, in Wharton, Texas to the late Joe W. Joines and Viola Barnett Joines.
Ruth was raised in the Wharton area and attended Hungerford and Wharton schools. Graduating from Wharton High School in 1947. She was a bookkeeper for most of her life. Ruth enjoyed cooking, sewing, visiting with family in San Angelo, being around her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a faithfull member of Abell Street Church of Christ in Wharton, active in many programs with the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Billie Jo Taylor, son, Leonard Miller, Jr., brothers, Bill Joines, and Joe Joines, Jr. and great grandson, Weston Machart.
Ruth will be missed by her sister, Jeanie Lowe, grandchildren, DeeAnn Schumbera and husband, John, Joe W. Mask and wife, Julie, Racheal Martin and husband, Brad and Steven Miller, great grandchildren, Brendon Miller, Anagayl and Eliska Shumbera, Jennifer Mask, Celeste Sanders, Addisyn Sanders, Karli Eastlick and Dalton Miller, and numerous great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Joines, Tom Joines, Joe Ray Joines, Terry Lowe, Gary Joines and Mike Joines. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Joines, Jonny Lowe and the Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9am on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services following at 10am. Burial will follow at EvergreenMemorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
