Ruben “Biskit” Gutierrez

Ruben Gutierrez, 61, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in a Sugar Land hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Wharton, Texas to Pedro and the late Guadalupe Munoz Gutierrez.

Ruben was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. He worked as a machine operator with Nanya Plastics Corp until his retirement. Ruben married Beverly Perez on September 8, 1984 in Palacios. He enjoyed playing softball, coaching, fishing, playing corn hole, golfing, and giving softball lessons, although his favorite activity was playing with his grandsons. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chloe Cisneros.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Gutierrez of Wharton, son, Ruben Gutierrez, Jr. and wife Dutchess, of Irving, daughter, Brittany Cisneros and husband, Ernest of Bloomington, grandsons, Caleb Cisneros, Ernest Cisneros, III, and Chayse Cisneros, father, Pedro Gutierrez, sister, Mary Gomez, brother Juan Gutierrez and wife, Catherine, his eldest daughter, Stephanie Sanchez and husband, John, granddaughter, Sierra Gutierrez and great granddaughters, Aubrey and Aria, as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving friends and family.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 29 after 5 pm at the Wharton Funeral Home, rosary recited at 7pm. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Serving as Pallbearers will be : Harold Matula, Edward Robledo, Barney Martinez, Ernest Cisneros Sr., Robert Vandagriff, Emilio Mata, Angel Dominguez, Greg Houses and Patrick Rodriguez.
