Rose Linda Silvas Martinez

Rose Linda Martinez,  passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 near Bay City from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 53.  She was born in Mathis, Texas to the late Jesus and Elisa Garcia Silvas.

Rose Linda was raised in El Campo and graduated from El Campo High School. She continued her education  with Everest University  earning a Phlebotomy Certification. She worked as an administrative Assistant for McCoys in Bay City. Rose Linda married Leonardo Martinez on July 13, 2019. She loved to worship the Lord,  dance, being with her  grandchildren. She could often be found baking drinking her diet cokes and snacking on candy.

She is survived by her husband, Leonardo Martinez, Jr., daughters, Jessica Gonzales and husband, Ben Acuna, Jr. of El Campo, Patricia Willoughby and husband James of Needville, Michelle Martinez of Rosenberg, Mandy Martinez and husband, Serafin Mendez, Jr. of East Bernard and Nicole Martinez of Edna, son, Joshua Gonzales, Sr. and wife, Claudia Mendoza of Damon, siblings, Lisa Silvas and husband, Juan Rubio of Sheridan, Alamar Bernal and husband, Bobby of Rosenberg, Jesse Garcia and  wife, Tanya Ramirez of Katy and Robert Silvas of Pasadena, grandchildren, Felicia Gonzales, Joshua Gonzales, Jr., Jiovanni Gonzales, Joseph Valdez, Jacob Valdez, Angelyna Rogers, Ben Acuna, III, Alexis Zepeda, Joshua Zepeda, Elizabeth Zepeda, Trace Wilson, Damus Garza, III, Meyah Garza, Makayla Garza and Cecily Mendez.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 26  4 - 5:30pm. Friends are welcome to join the family after 5:30 at the Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at  9:30am at Grace Community Fellowship Church in Wharton. Pallbearers will be Ricky Martinez, Albert Martinez,  Jimmy Martinez, Robert Silvas, Jesse Garcia and Joshua Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica Gonzales, Patricia Willoughby, Claudia Mendoza, Michelle Martinez, Mandy Martinez, Nicole Martinez, Lisa Silvas, Alamar Silvas and Tanya Ramirez. Burial will follow in La Colonia Cemetery in El Campo.
