Robert Samora
Robert Samora, 68, of Baytown and formerly of New Gulf, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in Pasadena. He was born on May 19, 1957, in New Gulf, Texas to the late Lupe and Nieves Salinas Samora.
Robert was raised in New Gulf and attended Boling High School and received his graduation certificate while in the Army. He served in the United States Army, enlisting with his parents’ permission at 17. Following the service, he worked in Baytown at the chemical and oil plants. He was known as a jokester, enjoyed playing the machines. He was proud that he was born and raised in New Gulf. He will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Samora, niece Doreen Rodriguez, nephews Rene Samora, D.J. King, Trevor Burleson Jr., and grandson Lukas Samora.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Samora, Jr. and wife, Kim Skelton, Roland Samora, Richard Samora and Ryan Samora, brother, Lupe Samora and wife Cindy. Sisters, Diana Samora Rodriguez, Rosie Samora, Norma Navarro and husband Tony, Maria “Litos” Coto, Vicky Samora, Christi Pardon and husband Rigo. Grandchildren, Bradyn and Brodey, several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his lifelong friends Roland Gomez and Richard Gomez.
Family Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 26th 2025 at 2pm at Wharton Funeral Home.
