Robert Garza, 68, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at a Wharton hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born on July 13, 1955, in Edna, Texas to the late Andrew Garza and Eusebia Garza.
Robert was raised in Edna and graduated from Edna High School. He later served our country in the United States Army National Guard. On April 24, 1987, he married Aline Marie Webel in Ganado. Robert worked for Jackson County Electric Service for over 39 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, doing yardwork, watching westerns on TV and spoiling his grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Garza.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Aline Garza of Wharton, sons, Michael Garza and wife, Laura of Port Lavaca, Robert Garza and wife, Jackie of Edna, and Matthew Crisp and wife, Tamara of Beeville and daughter, Tanya Taylor and husband, Dee of Wharton, brothers, Rudy Garza and wife, Brandy, David Garza, and Eddie Garza, sister, Janie Garza, grandchildren, Sebastian Garza, Piper Garza, Fabian Garza, Roberta Garza and Vanessa Garza, Stuart Taylor & Donovan Crip along with great grandchildren, Julianne, Ty, Victoria and Katherine Taylor.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later time.
Funeral services are under the direct supervision of Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.
