Patrick Frank StavenaMarch 17, 1945 – October 2, 2026

Patrick Frank Stavena, 81, of East Bernard, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1945, in Wharton, Texas. He was the eleventh of thirteen children born to Ludwig & Anna "Annie" Novosad Stavena.

Patrick began working as a stone and brick mason as a young teenager, and he made it his life's work. He worked with Stavena Masonry, and became known as a fireplace specialist, with a gift for stonework. His craftsmanship can still be seen in fireplaces and homes throughout the area. He was a member of Abell Street Church of Christ.

When he wasn't working, Patrick could usually be found outdoors, fishing, hunting or piddling with his hands. He could make just about anything work, even if it meant inventing something along the way. Wherever he was, Patrick never met a stranger, and he found joy in visiting with everyone he came across.

Nothing mattered more to Patrick than his family. He loved his wife, Linda, deeply, and he was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was happiest when he was surrounded by the people he loved, and he treasured every moment he had with them. His love for his family was the foundation of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig Stavena & Anna "Annie" Novosad Stavena, & by his siblings Estella Keeler, Arnold Stavena, Daniel Stavena, Norbert Stavena, Dorothy Goff, Bernice Novosad, James Stavena, Leonard Stavena, Elizabeth Ingle & Margaret Worthy.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Linda (Wallace) Stavena; his son Patrick(PJ) Stavena & wife Sharon; his daughter Lisa Olmeda & husband Joe; his son Shane Stavena & wife Brenda; his daughter Lorinda Brown; his grandchildren Matthew, Kelsey & Bryan Buzek, Britney White, Joe Matthew Olmeda, Jenna Hession, Abigail Lounsbury, Cody & Cameron Koudela and Lilly Brown; his great-grandchildren Matt, Kaylee, Jade, Emmitt, Asher, & Lizanna Buzek, Michael & Travis Delgado, Caleb & Caiden Malik, Quinn & Harper Hession, Jaden, Koy, & Maverick Koudela and his siblings Clara & husband Daniel Chumchal and Gilbert & wife Lea Stavena.
