Oscar Jimenez, Sr

Oscar Jimenez Sr., was born on September 18, 1953 to Jesus and Amalia Jimenez in Owatonna, Minnesota. Oscar was raised in Lane City, but resided in Bay City.  He was a pipefitter by trade for 40 plus years but he was a Cowboy by heart. Oscar was a member of the Texas Caballeros for 21 years. He loved roping, riding, dancing and trail rides. 

His favorite pastime was involving himself with his kids and grandkids activities, being with family, watching his favorite team the Minnesota Vikings, but most of all singing and dancing the night away with the love of his life, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Tristan, step son, Alfredo “Freddie” Gutierrez, Jr. and  granddaughter, Brooke Jimenez, great-granddaughter Jhett Haven Esquivel, great-grandson Karson Taylor Parks, brothers-in-law, Lupe Torrez, Sr. and Saulo Salazar.

He is survived by the love of his life of almost 30 years, Virginia Jimenez, children, Oscar Jimenez, Jr. (Yolanda), Jessica Jimenez Randle (Zach), Theresa Cervantes (Richard), Alicia Gonzales (Fernando), stepson Randy Charles (Jean), stepdaughters, Teresa Mata, Cynthia Guerrero (Jose), Valerie Trevino (Joey), Amanda Guevara (Juan), brothers Carlos Jimenez (Maria), Roy Jimenez (Belinda)Jesus Jimenez Jr. (Yolanda) sisters Ricarda Salazar, Mary Torres, Gloria Rodriguez (Jesse) and Frances Sedillo, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9 after 5 pm with a prayer service at 7pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home with burial to follow in East View Cemetery in Bay City. Serving as pallbearers are, Johnny Jimenez, Richard Boo Cervantes, Kaine Garcia, Aiden Perez, Juan Guevara, Jr. Mark Garcia, Jr., Thomas Fuentes and Jose “JJ” Guerrero, Anthony Jimenez and Joshua Jimenez.  Honorary pallbearers are Chino Cervantes, Zach Randle, Fern Perez, Jose Guerrero, Joey Trevino and Juan Guevara, Sr. with his last ride lead by his “Cowgirls.”
