 Ophea Keprta

 Ophea Keprta, 80, of Lane City, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her residence. She was born on September 25, 1943, in Wharton to the late Hansford and Josephine Schlabs Waggoner.

 Ophea was raised in Lane City and attended Lane City school before graduating from Wharton High School in 1961. Ophea obtained her Licensed Vocational Nurse degree from Wharton County Junior College. She worked at Richmond State School for many years. She married Robert Keprta on June 6, 1964, in Houston. They enjoyed 60 years together. Ophea loved family time, traveling and her garden. She also enjoyed raising and watching birds, especially her cockateels.

 Ophea is survived by her husband, Robert Keprta of Lane City, son, Matthew Keprta and wife, Jennifer of Lane City, daughter, Cheryl Keprta of North Carolina, sisters, Shirley Duke of Oklahoma, Wanda Faye Duke of Goliad, and Lucille Santikos, grandchildren, Hunter Keprta, Nathan Vychron and Ryan Vychron.

 Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8 after 9 am at the Chapel at Evergreen Memorial Park with services starting at 11 am. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
