Mildred Marie Allen

November 11, 1928 ~ April 17, 2025

On November 11, 1928, William and Josie Mae Donihoo welcomed a baby girl, Mildred Marie into their home in McKinney, Texas.

Mildred spoke fondly of her parents, but without a doubt she was a daddy’s girl.

Mildred’s love for life was focused on 4 very special men in her life, Her dad, William, her loving and adored husband, Ellis Allen and her sons, Steven and Christopher Weber. All who preceded her in death.

Ellis and Mildred’s marriage included a n instant family of 6 children. Mildred’s 2 sons, Steven and Chris, and Ellis’s 4 children, Linda, James, Kathryn and Susan.

Ellis and Mildred lived the majority of their married life in Houston, Texas, in a beautiful home at 7103 Vogel. A beautifully decorated home filled with love and treasured memories. They welcomed friends and familywith warmth.

Mildred worked at Nieman Marcus, which served her well for her love for cloths and shoe fetish. Later, she worked alongside her husband at L.B. Walker and Associates. Ellis was a senior partner in the company.

Mildred & Ellis had many beloved friends. They were diversified and treasured. Their travels near and far, holiday celebrations, company gatherings, always included a host of friends.

Mildred lived in their home 21 years after Ellis died, until the age of 96 years old.

Her home is where she wanted to be. Legally blind, she lived in her home with her beloved dog, Gi Gi.

As life’s experiences, challenges and failing health stole her independance, she found her new home at Comfy Homes, a group home near Katy, Texas. During the transition period from February 2025 to April 2025. Mildred fell and broke her femur, after surgery, she was cared for at Ignite Medical Resorts for physical therapy. After 22 days she was transferred to Comfy Homes, where she passed to her Forever Home on April 17, 2025, at 8:20 A.M.

In the days prior to Mildred’s death, she would share with her boyfriend, Ross Terry, “Ellis came to get me and take me home, but, they would not let me go. I just want to go home.”

“I don’t know what God wants me to do. I just want to go.”

Mildred’s simple pleasures in her last days were Mini Snickers Bites, diet Coke, Face timing calls, and visits from those who dearly loved her and will miss her feisty passion for life.

Mildred loved the Lord. Her hospice nurse shared scripture with her regularly and the Saturday before she passed she sang Amazing Grace with one of her caregivers- and she knew every word!

At the end of our visits she would say: “I love you and if you need anything let me know.”

“Do the best you can with what you got”

Mildred is survived by: Linda and Johnny Butterfield and family, Jimmy and Kathy Allen and family, Susan Averre and family and Christi Silcox and family. Three Generations.

Beloved friends, too many to count and name.
