Maria Teresa Cisneros

Maria Teresa Cisneros   Maria Teresa Cisneros, 72, of Wharton, Texas passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at her residence following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Laredo, Texas on November 27, 1946, a daughter of the late Reyes and Guadalupe Sosa Olivarez.   Maria was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School.  Following a year at Wharton County Junior College, she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone and worked her way up into management.  After 30 years, she retired in 2004.  Maria married Ezequiel Cisneros, Jr. on January 6, 1989 in Pasadena.  She had a love of fishing, sewing, baking and cooking.  She was very involved with her family and cherished her time with them.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Yolanda Mata and Herlinda Lara.   Maria is survived by her husband, Ezequiel Cisneros of Wharton; daughters, Carolyn Marie Soto Jackson and husband, Daniel of Houston and Laura Ann Cisneros Chavez and wife, Marissa of Pearland; sisters, Anna Olivarez, Cecilia Toenniges, Guadalupe Callejas, Judy Abid and brothers, Cayetano Olivarez, Ismael Olivarez and Reyes Olivarez, Jr. and many friends and relatives.   Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 after 5 pm at Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7pm.  The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 506 S. East Ave, Wharton.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.   Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com
