Margaret Ferrel, 89, of Houston and formerly of Wharton, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 7, 1936 in Wharton to the late Bernardino and Herminia Medrano Margaret was raised in Wharton and attended Wharton schools. She met Salud Ferrel and got married on November 15,1952. He preceded her in death on Feb 3, 2007.
She enjoyed being a caregiver for many years, loved going to church and a strong faith, watching her Spanish novellas, listening to Tejano music, her peaceful morning coffee outside on the porch, and being with family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her husband Salud G. Ferrel, daughter Gloria Ramos, son Daniel Ferrel, great grandson, Daniel Ferrel, Jr, sister Tina Valdez, Brother Mike Medrano and Brother Isidro Medrano.
Margaret survived by her daughter Debra Ann Villeda and husband Ambrosio, Sister in law Josie Medrano, grandchildren David Villeda and wife Delia, Laura Villeda, Lisa Muniz and husband Luis Muniz, Elizabeth Juarez and husband Oscar, Brenda Ramos, Christine Caballero Daniel Ferrel, Sr. and wife, Stephanie, Sonia Ferrel and Benny, Ann Margaret Ferrel, Danielle Ferrel, Michelle Ferrel. great grandchildren, Esperanza Villeda, Roxanne Villeda, Vanessa Tran and Husband Tim, Luis Benjamin Muniz , Eric Salud Muniz, Jacob Juarez , Sarah Juarez , Michael Juarez , Adam Juarez, Alena Ramos, Larissa Muniz , lalia Garza, Lila Garza , Alazea Temores, Mia Temores, Aden Temores, Alyssa Butler and husband Charles, Steven Ferrel and wife, Ashley, Hillary Campos, Angel Campos, Joe Campos, Selena Campos, Jeanette Rodriguez, Felipe Campos, Jr., John Ferrel, Christopher Ferrel, James Ferrel, Nevaeh Ferrel, Bella Ferrel and CICI Ferrel and Arya Ferrel . great great grandchildren, Noah, Ean, Julian, Mateo, Malina, Katalyna, Charles Jr, Daniel, Bryce, Brynlee, Mary Jane, Ivory and Houston. nieces Janie and Sonny Gonzales, Diane and Mike Ricarte and Linda and Johnnie Orta, Cindy Medrano , Martha Medrano, Brenda Medrano and nephews Ernest and Wife Molly, Close family, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held after 5 pm on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Fr. Antonio Perez celebrating. Pallbearers Luis Muniz, Jacob Juarez, Michael Juarez, Adam Juarez, David Villeda, Roxanne Villeda Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
