Marcella Gajewsky

Marcella Gajewsky, 80, of Wharton, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2024, at her residence. She was born on October 27, 1943, in Crescent, Texas to the late Emil and Anna Pavlicek Cerny.

 Marcella was raised in Crescent and attended Crescent School and graduated from El Campo High School. She later obtained her LVN from Wharton County Junior College and her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She enjoyed being a Moravian Lady, enjoying a good drink, a dance, and a shot at her luck gambling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny Gajewsky, and step granddaughter, Amber Hensarling.

 Marcella is survived by her daughter, Annette Gajewsky Maly and husband, Kevin, of Lane City, son, David Gajewsky and wife, Diana of Wharton, sister, Leona Coxwell, grandchildren, Presley Gajewsky, Sean Daniel Johnson, and Alicia Mouser and great grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, and Sadie.

 Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 27 after 5 pm at Wharton Funeral Home with a Celebration of life with a Rosary held at 7 pm.
