Manuel Zepeda

Manuel Zepeda, 81, of Wharton, TX, peacefully left this world and joined Our Heavenly Father on July 8, 2026. He was born March 7, 1945 in Wharton, TX, son of Daniel and Candelaria ZepedaManuel graduated from Boling High School and he served in the U.S. Army, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious achievement in the Vietnam War. He went on to work for Texas Gulf for 25 years.

A doting husband to his beloved wife, Dolly Zepeda, whom he was married to for 55 years,  Manuel was known for his strong work ethic. He was the epitome of a hardworking provider. Manuel was a devoted father and adoring grandfather. Together, Manuel and Dolly raised two daughters and put them both through school at University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX.

Manuel was known for his kind, amiable disposition. He loved fishing and being outdoors, reading about dogs and birds, country and western music, and he was an avid gun collector. Manuel enjoyed watching boxing and UFC matches, as well as the Dallas Cowboys, baseball, and especially the NBA playoffs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolly Zepeda, his daughter, Kimberly Kay Hagan, and his son-in-law, Mark Hagan, of Cypress, TX, his daughter, Karen Annette Rodriguez, and his grandson, Alistair Gavin Zepeda Rodriguez of Katy, TX. Manuel was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Zepeda, and sisters Lillie Mae Torres and Alice Nafegar.

A viewing will be held at Wharton Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 14 at 5:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Manuel’s life will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Wednesday, July 15 at 10:00 AM.
