Lydia was born in Runge, Texas to Pablo and Francisca Jaquez and entered Heaven in Rosenberg, Texas.

 

In her younger days she worked at Wharton Steam Laundry and at Gulf Coast Medical Center.

 

She Married Sam Gonzales July 2, 1966. She was a very active member of La Primera Iglesia Bautista Wharton, where she was involved in WMU and was always volunteering to clean the church. She was also a caretaker for her mother.

 

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Antonia Ballejo, Sara Rangel, Ester Castillo and Josie Martinovic ~ brothers: Santos, Cristobal, Ascencion, Ignacio, Natividad and Tanis Jaquez.

 

She leaves behind her husband of almost 55 years, Sam Gonzales, daughter Cynthia Alderete and husband, Frank. Grandson Joseph Mendoza and wife, Fabiola. Sisters: Anita Ramirez and Mary Garza.

 

A proud wife, mother and grandmother will be missed by all that met her.

Visitation will begin at 8 am Tuesday, June 29, 2021 with Funeral services following at 10:30 at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
