Lucia Erevia Donjuan
Lucia E. Donjuan, 83, of Wharton passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at a Bay City nursing center. She was born on August 8, 1942, in Newgulf, Texas to the late David, Sr. and Maria Herrera Erevia.
Lucia was raised in Newgulf and Boling for several years before her family moved to Wharton where she attended Wharton schools. She married Gilberto Davila in Wharton. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1996. Lucia enjoyed cooking, watching Gods’ world outside, tending to her plants and flowers, taking care of others and doting on her grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren. She also enjoyed working for the University of Houston system as a custodian for over 25 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Josephine Ann Cantu, her brothers, Antonio Erevia, David Erevia, Jr., Matilde Erevria, sisters, Maria Everia, Estella Erevia, Maria Ester Erevia, Esperanza Erevia.
Lucia is survived by her daughter, Theresa Erevia Cantu, Belen Adame, sons, Flavio Davila and wife, Elba, Gilbert Rodriguez, siblings, Angel Erevia, Raymond H Erevia and Consuelo Erevia, grandchildren, Joette Ann Krpec, Eric Allen Montalvo, Sr., Crystal Montalvo, Criselda Teal, Anthony Cantu, Alexander Cantu, Jeremy Alexander Davila, Rheanna Ester Davila, Laci Alexandra Davila, Johnny Ray Garcia, Savannah Garcia, Christine Farinias, Francisco Alvardo, Yuridia Yoselin Alvardo, Gregory Rodriguez, Chelsea Rodriguez, Alyssa Rodriguez, and Patrick Rodriguez, great grandchildren, Angelica Lee Hernandez, Donovan Ray Krpec, Shelby Krpec, Eric Allen Monyalvo, Jr., Braulia Ortiz, Naydia Lucia Perez, Ricardo Perez, Nathaniel Perez, Anthony Cesar Lee Cantu, Adam Joel Lee Cantu, Athena Lynn Martinez, Jissell Garcia, Michelle
Garcia, Samantha Cruz, Junior Cruz, Matt Cruz, JR Garcia, Julian Castaneda, Neveah Martinez, Jordan Martinez, Berniece Martinez, Mila Farinas, Joeph Farinias, Jr., and Amoret Farinias, along with her great great grandchildren, Baki R Hernandez-Dixon, Estella Vasquez, Natasha Montalvo, Akasha Montalvo, Cristella Vasquez, Ezra Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, and Jeremiha Rodriguez, Along with her countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, after 1pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 2pm. Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Rev Antonio Perez celebrating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Pallbearers will be Bradley Krpec, Eric Montalvo, Jr., Francisco Alvarado, Johnny Ray Garcia, Jeremy Davila and Gregory Rodriguez.
