Judith Rose Satsky

June 15, 1949 - July 21, 2026

Judith (Zmeskal) Satsky, 77, of East Bernard, TX, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 21, 2026. She was born in Loraine, TX, on June 15, 1949, to Emil J. Zmeskal, Sr. and Sadie Hoepfl Zmeskal.

Raised in Moulton, TX, Judy graduated from Moulton High School in 1967. She went on to pursue her licensed vocational nursing certification (LVN) at Wagner Hospital in Shiner, TX. She married Edward S. Satsky of Hallettsville, TX, on September 18, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton, TX. Soon after, the couple settled in Eagle Lake, TX.

Judith worked as an LVN for Rice Medical Associates (formerly known as the Thomas Clinic) for the entirety of her nursing career, eventually retiring in 2009. She enjoyed sewing, and particularly liked making blankets. Her handmade blankets were affectionately referred to as “JuJu Blankets”, and nearly every member of her extended family was gifted one. Judy also loved her cats, especially Tilly, her fluffy companion of 17 years.

Judith, known lovingly as JuJu to her family, was particularly proud to be a grandma. She adored all six of her grandchildren and made sure to spend time with all of them, whether it be attending a sporting event, or staying over for the weekend. You can rest assured that she would slip her grandchild a $20 bill just about every time she visited with them.

Judith is preceded in death by her father Emil Zmeskal, Sr.; her mother Sadie Zmeskal Polasek; her brothers Daniel, Anthony, and Emil Zmeskal, Jr., and her sister Iris Svatek. She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Edward Satsky of East Bernard; her son Wade Satsky and wife Kristin of New Braunfels; her daughter Rhonda Morrow and husband Walter of East Bernard; her daughter Jill Gould and husband Spencer of Sugar Land; her brother David Zmeskal and wife Clarice of Lewisville; and her sister Yvonne Pilat and husband Mark of Moulton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sophie and Jackson Morrow; Kannon and Kaeden Satsky; and Daphne and Whitney Gould. Judith is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
