JUDI BETH HENSON HAMBY

December 26, 1959 ~ April 14, 2021

Judi Beth Henson Hamby went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 following a brief illness, however, courageously fought at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.  Judi was born on December 26, 1959 in Wharton, Texas, youngest of three daughters born to the late Walter Newman and Dorcas Brown Henson of Boling, Texas.

Judi grew up in Boling, TX and graduated from Boling High School in 1978 where she enjoyed being a twirler for the Boling High School marching band and a member of the school annual staff.  She then attended Wharton County Junior College and obtained an Associate Degree in Accounting as well as being a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography.

Judi married William (Bill) Dennis Hamby on November 15, 1980 in Iago, Texas at Iago Federated Church.  They welcomed a son and her joy, Dennis Walter Hamby on February 18, 1987.

Her professional career began as Office Manager for Wharton Feed & Supply where she worked from 1982 to 1990.  Judi then began her 30-year career in the Agriculture and Grass Farm Industry when she began work as the Office Manager for Viktorin Green Turf in 1990 in Wharton, TX.  She continued her career with Wittig Grass Sales in Iago, TX and for the last 7 years with Kubicek Turf Farms, Inc. in Wharton, TX.

Judi enjoyed fishing and going to the beach which she considered her happy place since she was a young girl.  She was a very talented and award winning five -time published photographer where she founded J B H Photography and threeShutters Photography.  Judi enjoyed many hours at Binders Garden in Needville, TX at the Texas Photo Shoot Workshops where she served as a Mentor Photographer.  She was always busy creating amazing sewing projects and gifts as shown in her beautiful quilts but more than anything she loved being a Grandmother spending time with her two beautiful, loving grandsons, Dylan William Hamby and Bradley Russell Hamby, who filled her life with joy as well as her family and precious furbaby, Bitzi.  Judi was known for her love, kindness, and generosity to everyone she met and had many, many friends.

Judi is survived by her husband, Bill Hamby, of 41 years and their son, Dennis Walter Hamby and two beloved grandsons, Dylan William Hamby and Bradley Russell Hamby, all of Wharton, TX.  She is also survived by her two sisters Cathy Henson Wobbe and Patti Henson Alford and husband Bobby Alford of Wharton, Texas along with brother-in-laws Donald Hamby of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jeff Hamby of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Robert Hamby of Camden City, North Carolina as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  Judi was preceded in death by her parents and parent-in-laws, and nephew.
