Joyce Ann Orsak, 68, of East Bernard, TX passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, at a Needville nursing center surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 12, 1954, in Port Lavaca to the late Victor and Frances Giesie Hadash. Joyce was raised in Palacios and attended Vanderbilt elementary and Palacios high school. She married Jerry Orsak on October 14, 1972 in East Bernard. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2023. She loved being a stay at home mother to her children and later worked as a cook at Creative Care day care in East Bernard. Joyce loved crafts, especially crosstich and quilting, putting puzzles together, and reading. She also enjoyed going to Bingo on Friday nights. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and served the Catholic Daughters for over 25 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant sister Caroline, brothers-in-law, Warren Hunter and Danny Head. Joyce is survived by her children, Angela Orsak of East Bernard, Christy Smaistrla and husband, Ron of East Bernard and Matthew Orsak and wife, Kandace of East Bernard, sisters, Barbara White and husband, Richard of Wharton, Linda Head of Pearland, Patsy Carpenter and husband, Frankie of Markham, Cynthia Hunter of Lake Charles, brother, Victor Hadash Jr. and wife, Shonna of Bay City, half-brother Robert Pahmiyer of Edna and half-sister Debbie Ward of Dickenson, grandchildren, Andrew Arceo, Ethan Smaistrla, Landon Krenek and Logan Krenek, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. The family gives their heartfelt gratitude to her compassionate caregivers, Wanda Dickerson, Cassie Robinson, Lupe Flores, and Shundricka Tolliver. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, June 11 after 5 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with a Catholic Daughters Rosary recited at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will begin at 10:00 am at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St Bernadette # 1108 or any charity of your choice.
