We are saddened to announce the death of loved one, Juan “John” Robles on May 7, 2026.
John was born in Boling Texas, June 24, 1951. John attended schools in Boling and graduated in 1971. He was active in sports, basketball, and football. He was also in the Navy ROTC during high school.
John joined the Navy in 1971 and was on the USS Wichita. He was in Vietnam, Bangkok and finally in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Garza Robles of 52 years. Their daughters, Jennifer Robles Music and husband, Todd and Christy Resendiz Robles, one grandson, Kevin Gerard Robles. His deceased parents and siblings, Rodolfo Robles and Ramona Rodriguez Robles, brothers, Rudy Robles and Joe Robles. He is survived by his siblings, Sylvia Reyes, Cindy Samora and husband, Guadalupe Samora, Benjamin Robles and Delilah Robles.
Juan loved the military so much he joined the Army Reserves in Victoria, Texas. Then joined the Army in 1977. After that, he joined the National Guard in El Campo, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, lottery, casinos and just Bar -B-Cuing for his family and praying. He attended WCJC in computers and the welding and the mechanic school. Juan worked at the First Methodist Church for many years and then went to work at Nanya Plastics in Wharton until 2010. John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003. He finally retired in 2010.
He was a great veteran and a great supporter for his family. There was no job too hard for him. He was a disabled honorably discharged with a 100% rating. He moved us from Wharton to Fairchilds in 2021 and built his family a home in Fort Bend County.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton, beginning at 5:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Fr. Antonio Perez celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Burial. Burial will follow in VA Houston National Cemetery in Houston with members of the United States Army performing Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Victoran, Joe Rodriguez, Oscar Aquilar, Michael Reyes, Ivan Stafford, and Harry Anguita. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Robles and Rudy Robles III.
Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com.
