Jo Ann DuBois

Jo Ann DuBois, 94, of Boling passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 26, 1930, in Yorktown, Texas to the late Hamilton Glenn and Francis Rebecca Taylor Walker.

Jo Ann was raised in Boling and graduated from Boling High School in 1948. She married Destie Camille DuBois on November 11, 1948, in Boling. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1994. Jo Ann worked at Gulf Coast Medical Center in various administrative departments for 35 years. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and spending time on the water or at her family ranch with her husband Destie and family.

She loved to play card games with her great grandchildren and enjoyed every minute of their company. Jo Ann also loved to follow her favorite sports teams including the Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros and Houston Texans. In her later years she even began watching Aggie football games in support of her great-granddaughter Camille. She was an active member of Boling Methodist Church and served on the church board for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia B. Hill and nephew, Gary Hill. Jo Ann is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Bock and Rebecca Marie Burns and husband, Bobby, both of Boling. Grandsons, Chris Burns, and Taylor Burns and wife, Brooke. Great grandchildren, Camille Burns, Kasey Burns, Quinn Burns and Creed Burns, along with nephews, Robert Glenn Hill, Stephen Hooper and Brett Hooper.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at both Angels Home Health Care of Wharton (Beth and Angela) and Houston Hospice of El Campo (Gina, Birdie and Kathy) for the compassionate care they provided to our Mother/Grandmother. Your kindness, dedication, and support will never be forgotten. You truly made a difference, and we are forever grateful.

Celebration of Life will be held at Boling Methodist Church on Friday, September 19 at 10:30 A.M. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Boling United Methodist Church or Houston Hospice of El Campo.
