Jesus Molina Ferrel, Jr.

Jesse Ferrel, Jr., 79, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at a Katy hospital following a brief illness. Jesse was born on July 5, 1940 in Wharton, Texas to the late Ramona Molina Ferrel and Jesus Ferrel, Sr.

Jesse was raised in Wharton and attended Wharton schools. He worked for many years in the railroad industry before going into construction, farming and finally as a mechanic. He enjoyed visiting with others and was known as a people person. He loved telling stories about his childhood with friends and family. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Ferrel, daughter, Virginia Ferrel, and granddaughter, Melissa Vasquez.

Jesse is survived by his children, Merlinda Compean of Maryland, Rashelle Ferrel Vasquez of Wharton and Frances Ann Ferrel of Columbus, Sammy Ferrel of Wharton, sisters, Julia Jacquez,  and Pabla Ferrel Aguilar, brothers, Larry Ferrel and Benny Ferrel, grandchildren, Miranda Vasquez, Racquel Vasquez, Encenso Martinez Vasquez, Martha Rocha, Erica Ferrel, Ryan Ferrel, Jessie Compean, Jr., Rachel Chavez, Cecilia Compean, Carlos Compean, Dillion Ferrel, Gonzolo Ferrel, Jessica Robles, Christopher Robles, Steve Torres, Jr., and Stephanie Torres and 10 great grandchildren.

Following cremation, private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
