James Lee Slaughter

James Lee Slaughter, 81, of Brazoria, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 24, 1941 in Brazoria to the late Lee Roy and Lois Elaine Floyd Slaughter. James was raised in the Brazoria area and graduated from West Columbia High School. He worked as a pipefitter for Dow Chemical for many years. on June 5, 1981 he married Frances Jackson in Richmond. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and carpentry , which he learned from his father. James could build anything and built his own home with Frances in the Brazoria area. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Wesley Slaughter, and brother, Bob Slaughter. James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances Slaughter, daughter, Jenice Fernandez, brother, Tommy Slaughter and wife, Shana, and grandchildren, Drake and Max Fernandez and many friends. Visitation will be held after 9am on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2011 Briar Lane in Wharton with a rosary recited at 1030 and Funeral Mass held at 11 am with Father Charles Dwomoh celebrating.
