 Harold Eugene “Gene” Epps, Jr.

 Gene Epps, Jr., 86, of Eagle Lake, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Boerne, Texas. He was born on March 15, 1938, in Kingstree, South Carolina to the late Harold Eugene Epps, Sr. and Mary Amanda Phillips Epps.

 Gene was raised in South Carolina and graduated from Murray Vocational High School and joined the United States Navy. He served honorably, earning his discharge in 1962. Gene married Norma Vandiford in 1958 in Charleston, SC. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2017. Gene was a plant manager in the sand and gravel business for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

 Gene is survived by his son, Wesley Epps (Alicia) of Boerne, daughter, Angela Epps of Kyle, 4 grandchildren: Phillip, Paul and Hallie Epps, Kayla Gould and three great grandchildren: Naomi and twins Max and Ayla Epps. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Epps of Summerville, SC.

 Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
