Guadalupe Rodriguez

January 10, 1926 — August 3, 2020

Guadalupe Rodriguez Villanueva, 94, of Wharton passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 10, 1926 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Joaquin Rodriguez and Paula Mata Rodriguez.

 

 Guadalupe loved her family and her grandchildren were her greatest joy.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and attending to her plants.   She was a Christian woman and a strong believer in our Lord, Jesus Christ.  She married Paulo Villanueva in Mexico and together they raised 5 children, Jose, Martin, Ramon, Beta and Maria.  They had a happy life.

 

She is survived by her husband, Paulo Villanueva of 40 years, daughters, Beta Alicia Villanueva Kemp and husband, Robert of Houston, and Maria Corvarrubas and husband, Marcelino of Wharton; sons, Jose Villanueva and wife, Patricia of Wharton, Martin Villanueva of East Bernard and Ramon Villanueva of Spanish Camp; brothers, Faustino Rodriguez; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

 

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 starting at 9 a.m. at Wharton Funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 12 noon at San Gabriel Annex Cemetery in Beasley, TX.

 

Funeral Services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com
