Guadalupe Quintanilla

January 28^th 1944 ~ April 11^th 2024

  Guadalupe "Lupe" Garza Quintanilla, 80, of Wharton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11 th, 2024. Her husband, Ascension Quintanilla, of 56 years, by her side. She was an amazing, loving mother and wife.

    Lupe was born in Pierce, Texas. She spent her childhood in Hungerford and East Bernard and lived in Wharton, Texas, for the rest of her life.

    She was a saleslady for several Wharton establishments: Margie & Lee's, Mary's Dress Shop, Priesmeyer's, and Texas Western Wear. Lupe was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1990. Lupe enjoyed attending polka events with her husband, who was a member of the "Dilly Dilly Crew." She was known as the "Duchess of Smiles." 

    Lupe is survived by her husband, Ascension, sons Craig, daughter-in-law Rosemary and Eric, daughters-in-law Emily, Sisters Janie Gonzales, Lydia Vasquez, and Brothers Leo and David Garza. Grandchildren Lexus, Lexi, and Mitchell. Along with all her fur grand babies.

   Lupe was preceded in death by her Father, David Garza; mother, Maria Garza; and brothers, Elutario "Pops," Luciano "Indian Jake," and Paul. 

Instead of flowers, please make donations to Houston Hospice - El Campo.

Visitation will be on Tuesday April 16^th at 1pm at Holy Family with a rosary at 1:30 and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2pm. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial park at 3pm.
