In Loving Memory of Gertrude Mary MajewskiFebruary 24, 1933 – June 9, 2025
Gertrude Mary Majewski, a devoted wife, beloved mother, cherished grandmother, and adored great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She was 92 years old.
Born on February 24, 1933, in Hempstead, Texas, Gertrude was the daughter of Bill and Leona Kasprzak and the loving sister of Pete Kasprzak. On October 6, 1951, she married the love of her life, Joe Majewski, and together they built a life grounded in faith, love, and service. Gertrude and Joe were proud, devoted Catholics and long-time members of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where they faithfully attended Mass and gave back to their church community, especially during the annual bazaar which they enjoyed so much.
Gertrude was the proud mother of two children, Mary and Michael, and her love only grew as her family expanded. She was a devoted grandmother to Dana Daigle (Mark), Matthew Marshall (Melinda), Stefanie Garvin (Greg), and Candace Rusk (Harrison). She also delighted in the joy of her great-grandchildren: Hannah Muzik (Miles), Jenna Daigle, Mason Marshall, Olivia Garvin, Reid Garvin, Alexis Rusk, and Sheldon Rusk.
Family was the heart of Gertrude’s life. She found great joy in attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school and sporting events. At home, she was the fun-loving granny who never turned down a game of dominoes, Go-Fish, Old Maid, or any board game that brought smiles and laughter to her family.
Gertrude was also a thoughtful observer of the world. She watched the news daily and stayed engaged with current events, always ready to share her insights. A passionate gardener, she especially loved tending to her red and pink knock-out roses and delighting in the bloom of Texas bluebonnets each spring. Quiet moments often found her with a Nicholas Sparks novel in hand, lost in a story. But her favorite pastime of all was watching evening wrestling matches with Joe — a tradition they both cherished.
Her unwavering love, enduring faith, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Gertrude’s family feels blessed to have had her in their lives and will forever hold a special place in their hearts for her. Her warmth, wisdom, and strength will never be forgotten.
