Gerald Raymond “Bo” Wilson

Gerald Raymond “Bo” Wilson was born December 24, 1941 and was called home by our Lord on July 9, 2019 at the age of 77.  His devoted faith in Jesus Christ gave him great comfort in this life and for eternity.  He was born in Wharton Texas to Alney Jack and Frances Wilson.

Bo had a passion for dancing and taxidermy and a love for all animals and the great outdoors.  He married the love of his life, Patricia Gail Vavra, on August 24, 1968 and moved to East Bernard Texas. After several years, they decided to move their family to Wharton, Texas. He was employed by Stewart and Stevenson in Sealy before retiring at the age of 65 to pursue his passion for taxidermy full time.  He enjoyed spending countless hours with his 3 sons and grandchildren hunting and fishing.

Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Alney Jack and Frances Wilson, step father Julius Svec and sister in law, Laura Scherer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia Gail Wilson, twin sister Geraldine Macha and husband Daniel of East Bernard, sons Stuart “Skeeter” Wilson and wife, Teresa of Wharton, Ronald Wilson and wife Deanna of East Bernard and Sheldon “Boogie” Wilson and wife, Lisa of Blessing, brother in law, Vic Scherer of Cypress, grandchildren Shelby Ross and husband Blaine, Khloe Duhon, Valori Prazak, Evan Wilson, Amanda Cunningham and husband, Jeff, Samantha Tabares and husband, Ernie, Matthew Krenek and wife Alexis, Clayton Krenek, and 11 great grandchildren.

Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10 am at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating.
