Gary Kacal

Gary Wayne Kacal, 74, of Katy, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026.

He was born in Wharton, Texas on January 21, 1952, to the late Clement Gabriel Kacal and Edna Srubar Kacal.

Gary was raised in Boling and graduated from Boling High School in 1970. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.

Gary worked as a mechanical engineer for WKM in Missouri City and retired from Foster Wheeler in 2017.

He married Lou Ann Smolik on May 27, 1984 in Houston.

He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, watching sports, coaching little league baseball, going to Port Alto with family and a good game of dominoes.Gary is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Kacal, daughters, Lynna Michelle Kacal Krpec of East Bernard and Jennifer Lynn Kacal of Katy, son, Eric Lee Kacal (Kieu) of Katy, brothers, Bruce Kacal and Randy Kacal, grandchildren, Jenna Krpec, Juliette Kacal, Savannah Kacal and Catherine Kacal, and several nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be at 9 am Saturday, August 8 at Wharton Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 9:30 am and the funeral service set to begin at 10am.
