 Frank Louis Jedlicka

 Frank Louis Jedlicka, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born on January 23, 1951 to Frank T. and Cecelia Luchak Jedlicka in Wharton, Texas, grew up in Hungerford and graduated from East Bernard.

 He was a dedicated and honorable veteran who proudly served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. National Guard, consecutively. 

 A man of courage, strength, and resilience, his experience while serving the military demonstrated his deep commitment to his country and his desire to contribute in every way possible.

 After his retirement, Frank remained an advocate for his fellow veterans, supporting causes that benefited disabled veterans and military families. 

 In his personal life, Frank shared 35 years with his wife Marilyn Prazak until 2004. He was a loving father, grandpa, and a devout Christian. He was a man who embodied strength and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

 His passions were hunting, fishing and woodworking. He found fulfillment in leading the 4-H shooting sports club, working at the Wharton County Fair, and the Hungerford Cotton Gin and volunteering at the Knights of Columbus. His legacy of service, both in and out of uniform, will continue to inspire those who knew him.

He is survived by his mother Cecila Jedlicka, brothers Jimmy (Karen), and Daniel (Danette) Jedlicka, sisters Bernadette (Daniel) Karasek and Barbara (Kenny) Svatek, sons Philip, and Matthew (Nikki) Jedlicka, grandsons, Wyatt, Colton and Eli Jedlicka, along with numerous nephews and nieces. 

 He is preceded in death by his father. 

 The family would like to extend their gratitude to his friends, and the medical professionals and caregivers over the last few years during his cancer treatments and after his tractor accident that ultimately took his leg. 

 A memorial service at the Saint John's Catholic Church in Hungerford Texas will be held on October 26th at 10am, proceeding with the rosary at 9:30am. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at a later date at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, where he will join his brothers and sisters in arms, honoring his lifelong commitment to the nation he loved.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Disabled Vets, Knight of Columbus or your favorite charity in his memory.
