Felicita Lopez, 82, of Wharton, Tx passed away on Monday December 4, 2023, at a Wharton hospital following a brief illness.  She was born on March 31, 1941, in Fredericksburg, Texas to the late Antonio and Rafaela Aleman Moreno.

Felicita was raised in the Fredericksburg area and attended school there. She married Juvenal Lopez in 1995 in Bay City. They made their home in Wharton for many years. Felicita was a homemaker and loved being outside tending her garden and plants. She loved Thanksgiving and making her dressing for the family. She enjoyed crocheting, spoiling her grandchildren and playing with her cats and dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ricarda Moreno and brothers, Bridgio Moreno, Paul Moreno, and Tony Moreno and her son in law, Jose Muniz.

Felicita is survived by her husband, Juvenal Lopez of Wharton, daughters, Virginia Muniz of Boling, Theresa Bosque of Wharton, Sara Rivera and husband, Ray of East Bernard, and Rosa Romero of Fort Worth, son, Prudencio Marques and wife, Corinna of Ft Worth, sister, Elida Availa of Wharton and brother, “Beto” Sylvester Moreno of Ft Worth, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday December 8, 2023, starting after 5pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel with burial to follow Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.  Serving as pallbearers are Romair Bosquez, Rudy Bosquez, Derek Rivera, Prudencio Marquez, Phillip Marquez, Rudy Bosquez, Jr., Raul Bosquez and Romano Bosquez.
