Esther Cruz Cerrillo passed into the arms of the lord peacefully on June 9, 2021 at The Crescent Nursing Facility in Sugarland.  Esther was born on July 26, 1930 in Wharton, TX to the late Lucio Cruz and Guadalupe Quentana.

Esther was a lifelong resident of Wharton and on July 2, 1949 she married the love of her life Joe Valle Cerrillo and spent 66 years happily married to him until his passing on February 27, 2016.  According to her family, Esther loved to play bingo, cook meals for family and friends, had a passion for shopping but her true enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and having family gatherings. 

Esther is survived by her daughter Lydia Cerrillo of Sugarland and her son Roy Cerrillo and his wife Marilyn of Richmond.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Amanda Brown and her husband Erik of Katy, Roy A. Cerrillo and his wife Danielle of the Woodlands and her great grandchildren Clayton, Ansley and Chelsea.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Joe and her son Tony Cerrillo.

Relatives, friends and members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Las Guadalupanas prayer group are invited to her viewing on Tuesday June 15^th after 5:00 P.M.  at Wharton Funeral Home 515 E. Boling Hwy.  Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M.  Her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday  June 16^th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Wharton.

Serving as pallbearers: Hugo Martinez, John Alaniz, Kenneth Gonzalez, Paul Cruz, Del Cerrillo Jr. and Jim Nickolyn.

Honorary Pallbearer: Clayton Turner

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in Esthers name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wharton.
