It is with a heavy heart, yet a spirit filled with love that we announce the passing of Edward Orsak, who left us peacefully on May 31.2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, loyal friend, and valued colleague. Edward touched the lives of many over his remarkable journey of 80 years.
Edward was the beloved son of the late Edward and Toni Orsak. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his devoted wife Diane Orsak, his sister Rosemary Hinze, his brother-in-law W.C. Hinze, and his nephews Jack and Bob Miska.
Diane, whom he married on January 28, 1967, was his steadfast partner and love of his life. Together they built a wonderful home filled with laughter and love.
For 35 years, Edward dedicated his talents and hard work as a lineman for HL&P/Reliant energy, where he gained many lifelong friends while ensuring the lights stayed on for countless families. Outside of his professional life, Edward was a man who knew how to enjoy himself. He spent his leisure hours fishing and hunting, working on projects in his shop, and cooking meals worth sitting down for. He was a regular at the poker table and never passed up a good car show. He took great pride in showcasing his 1938 chevrolet coupe, his pride and joy. No matter what he was doing it was never about the activity as much as it was about the people that he enjoyed these activities with.
Edward is survived by his sister Adeline and brother-in-law Raymond Miska, his loving children: Daughter Chris Cissna, son-in-law Larry Cissna, Son Jeffery Orsak and Daughter-in-law Nicole Orsak. He was a proud grandfather of five: Wyatt Cissna and his wife Ashley, Britney Orsak, Jake Cissna, Amber Celedonher husband Adrian (aka: Aaron), and Haley Cissna. He was a doting great-grandfather to five precious great grandchildren: Jaden, Berkley, Layla, Maverick, and Kayce. In addition to his nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. His legacy of kindness and generosity will undoubtedly live on through them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2026, at Wharton funeral home. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember a man who touched so many lives with his warmth and unwavering kindness. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a service beginning at 11:00am.
