Robert Dwain Decell, 63, of Dallas, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1963, in Mt. Holly, New Jersey to parents Robert Francis Decell and Doris Pugh Decell. Dwain was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Spring, Texas before moving to Wharton, Texas with his family in 1980.

After graduation, he moved to Bryan/College Station, Texas where he met and married Laura Catherine Lawrence on March 14, 1987. He then attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1991 with a degree in Kinesiology. He was a business owner, a landlord, and a personal trainer over his lifetime. He was very proud of the four wonderful children they raised in the Bryan/College Station area. He was very good at sports and especially loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and working out. Dwain was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Decell in 1966 and his mother, Doris Pugh Clifton in 2014.

He is survived by his former wife, Laura Decell; his son, Kyle Robert Decell and wife, Taylor and their two children Hudson James Decell and Evelyn Grace Decell; his daughter, Cori Lynn Decell; his son, Colin Lawrence Decell and wife Lauren; and his son, Colton Clifton Decell. He is also survived by his second father, Robert Steven Clifton; his sister Debra Speckles and husband William; and his brother Steven Scott Clifton and wife Lori; and two nephews–Braden and Ben, and a niece–Brandi.

Visitation followed by Service will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Wharton Funeral Home, 515 E. Boling Hwy., followed by a graveside service and burial at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
