Douglas Calvert McDaniel

Douglas Calvert McDaniel passed into the arms of the Lord on February 15, 2022 at a Wharton nursing home.  He was born on November 15, 1938 to the late Calvert and Josephine McDaniel.

Calvert grew up in between Boling and Iago on the family farm and the roots of his heart were deeply set in that area.  He graduated from Boling High School in 1957 and went on to acquire a BS, MA and two PhD’s in psychology.  He worked for a time at the Houston VA hospital, but soon transferred to the VA hospital in San Antonio, which became his home until only a few years ago when he followed the roots of his heart back to Wharton. 

Douglas is survived by his loving daughter, Susan McDaniel and his two wonderful grandchildren, Brandon and Shelby Hieter, whom he loved dearly.

A graveside service was held on Monday February 28^th at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton.
