Dorothy Anne Seidel Krause was born in Moulton, Texas on September 25,1941 to Frank Anton and Norma Laura (Klobedans) Seidel. She had four sisters and one brother and always told stories of them helping her family on the farm.
All of the Seidel siblings settled in Texas and through the years continued to gather and celebrate holidays together making memories for their children and grandchildren. Dorothy left them to mourn her absence on May 25, 2026.
Dorothy married Dennis William Krause Jr. on February 4th, 1967 and began her married life in Beasley, Texas. Her early employment working in food service for Lamar CISD. Later, she found special enjoyment caring for young children in several local daycares. Some of her fondest memories were at Guided Childcare in Rosenberg where she cared for her first grandson Lane Guest and his cousin Corey Shepard.
Dorothy also provided a safe and happy place in her home for children needing after school care in Beasley. Many young parents of that community worked free of worry knowing their children were in her care.
She retired her childcare job and devoted all of her time to care for her twin grandsons, Luke and Lee Guest. She was "Bammy" to her grandsons who were her truest loves. Her caring and compassionate ways were truly imprinted in them.
After she no longer had to provide full time care for her grandsons, she took loving care of several special elderly ladies in the Beasley community. She had the most caring heart!
She enjoyed planting flowers, taking care of her ring neck doves and the chickens on the farm. She was an animal whisperer and the horses and cows loved to get the treats she would bring them. She was her grand dogs favorite person. They would sit on each side of her when she came for dinner.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first grandson, Everett Lane Guest, her husband, and four siblings; Wilma Kubenka, Lillian Svoboda, Edwin Seidel Roselyn Cloat, and daughter-in-law Bernadette Krause.
She is survived by her children Dwayne Krause, Denise Guest and husband Chad, grandsons Lane Guest and partner Cailey Mullarkey, and Luke and Lee Guest, step-grandsons C.J. and Dustin Fink, sister Jeanette Meyer sister-in-law Dianne Seidel and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 2pm at Wharton Funeral Home.
