Debra Ann Ramirez

Debra Ann Garcia Ramirez, 66, of Wharton, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at a Sugar Land hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in East Bernard on November 16, 1959, to the late Luis P. and Felipa Ramos Garcia.

Debra was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School. She married Jimmy Ramirez on May 11, 1994, in Wharton. She worked for many years at Reyna’s in Hungerford, making good food even better with her special touch. She always enjoyed being with her second family at work, visiting and talking about family events and upcoming celebrations. Debra also loved riding in the countryside, going shopping, going out to eat on occasion and placing her bet to try her luck. In addition to her father, Luis P. Garcia, she was preceded in death by her baby brothers, Luis, and Michael Garcia.

Debra is survived by her husband, Jimmy Ramirez, sons, Dustin Randle Whitbey of Arizona, Chad Everrett Whitbey of Wharton, sisters, Maria Gaona and husband, Jesse of Wharton and Diana Sanchez and husband, Joe of Wharton, brother, Luis Garcia, Jr. and wife, Laura of Richmond, her granddaughter, Paige Lobach her coworkers at Reyna’s and close friends, Frank and Rachel Reyna.

Visitation will be after 8:30 am Tuesday, September 15 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Rosary recited at 9:30 am and the Funeral Mass set to begin at 10am.
