Daniel “Sam” Samora, 85, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Born in Palacios, Texas, on October 21, 1940, Daniel was the son of Porfirio and Ignacia Samora.
He graduated from Boling High School in 1959. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving his country for three years. While completing technical school and awaiting his orders, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane, on February 19, 1960. This union became the foundation of a closeknit, loving, and devoted family.
Following his military service, Daniel built a long and dedicated career in the oil and gas industry. He worked for ExxonMobil for 30 years before retiring in 1997. Throughout his life in Baytown, he was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he found fulfillment participating in community outreach and parish activities.
Daniel was happiest when working with his hands, tending his yard, tackling projects around the house, or tinkering in his workshop. He enjoyed cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and few things brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were a constant source of delight to him.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Jane Samora, daughter Sonya Goodhart (William), son Dan Samora (Gwen), and son Robert Samora (Kelly), siblings, Olivia Vela, Gloria Guajardo, Becky Kruschall, Linda Deardmond (Robert), and Luella Krobot (Gary), grandchildren, Jordan Perucca (Steven), Dylan Norcross (Heather), Riley Goodhart, Luke Samora, Jake Samora, Sam Samora (Tori), Sophia Samora, and Roman Samora, great grandchildren, Bella Norcross, Jaxon Norcross, Noah Norcross, Joshua Norcross, and Hana Samora.
