Clara Spacek

Clara Spacek, aged 72, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at her cherished residence after a brief illness. She was born on May 11, 1951, in Wharton, Texas, to the late Raymond Klimple and Martha Marie Brenk Thurmond.

Clara's roots were firmly planted in the Wharton area, where she received her education at Wharton schools. On July 9, 1977, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and partnership when she married Anthony Spacek in Wharton. Clara was a dedicated homemaker, and her unwavering devotion was always directed toward her family and children. She shared countless joyous moments with her beloved husband, Anthony, while fishing and camping together, creating lasting memories for their children.

Her culinary skills were renowned, and she played host to every holiday meal, with her family eagerly gathered around her table. Clara had a unique tradition of starting the meal promptly at 11 am, and if you weren't there by 10:45 am, you'd find her leading the line to begin. Her punctuality became a cherished inside joke with her family, a testament to her endearing personality. Clara was known for her candid honesty; she never held back her thoughts and enjoyed engaging in games during every holiday celebration.

Clara leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Anthony Spacek, as well as her daughters, Vicki White and Chrissy Jones, along with her son, John White. She is also survived by her sister, Cathy Klimple, and brother, Bob Klimple. Clara's memory will forever live on through her beloved grandchildren: Meagan Haynes (and husband Chassen), Trey Drenner, Air Force Staff Sgt. Dylan Drenner, McKailea White, McKenzie White, Dana Jones, Jarrett Jones, Cheyenne Jones, Faith Jones, and Luke Jones. Her great-grandchildren, Goldie Haynes, Emma Drenner, and Mila Drenner, will treasure her memory as well.

A memorial service to celebrate Clara's life is scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. There will a reception following as the details will be announced.
